Hi my lovelies! As I write this, we are headed toward the end of quarantine week 4 in most of the U.S. and the rest of the world…and if you’re anything like me, you are getting REALLY antsy! We are all working from home, cleaning and organizing our houses, playing board games, cooking more meals, eating too much, getting creative and trying out new hobbies…and binging on Netflix!! Everywhere on Instagram people are asking for Netflix recommendations, so I thought I would share mine.

I’m currently watching three shows on Netflix….I just started “Love is Blind” with my 15-year-old daughter Kianna. We both heard so much about it on social media that we had to check it out. I’m not normally one for reality shows but this one is really sweet!! The concept is a dating game where men and women meet each other, date and propose without ever seeing each other. So they have their dates by talking through pods that are right next to each other – they can hear each other’s voices but not see each other. It’s heartwarming to see all these people looking for love and forming emotional connections without judging each other on physical appearance. Super cute!

I’m also watching the third season of “All American” with my hubby Paul. This is my kind of show – the kind that you can get super entrenched in…the characters are deep, the plot is dramatic, the storyline is interesting – I absolutely love it! It’s about a high school football star from Crenshaw, a lower income neighborhood in L.A. He moves to Beverly Hills to play for their high school football team. The story shows his struggle between missing his friends and family in Crenshaw and the gang violence tearing up the neighborhood there, and his new relationships with the Beverly Hills kids who live in posh homes and drive fancy cars, but have enough family problems to drive a person crazy.

The third show I’m watching right now is “Community” with Paul. We like to have a good sitcom comedy that we can watch before bed when we don’t have much time or don’t want to get into anything too deep. This show is cute, quirky, and lighthearted – about a 40-year-old lawyer who is forced to go back to community college. It’s about the unlikely group of friends he makes there, and all of their silly antics.

But before we get into all my Netflix recommendations, let me tell you about the types of shows I like. I prefer fun comedies or intense dramas without too much violence…I have the tolerance of an 8-year-old and can’t sleep at night if I see something too scary or gory. But sometimes I make an exception because the show is just too good to resist – and then I have to close my eyes whenever a scary part comes up! So I’m going to mention which shows on my list are violent, in case you’re anything like me 🙂

Anyway, let’s dive in and I’ll share all the Netflix shows I know of that you can get hooked on right now!
